What are Dentures ?

Dentures are a replacement option for patients who have lost teeth or had extractions. It can replace an entire set of teeth or fill in gaps in your smile caused by missing teeth. Dentures improve the appearance of your smile, support facial structures, restore chewing ability, and boost your confidence. At Hemlock Dental Clinic, we offer partial and full dentures; read on to find out which option is best for you.

Partial Dentures

You should consider partial dentures if you are looking for an alternative to other tooth-replacement methods, such as bridges and crowns. Partial dentures are made to fit your individual dental structure and mouth.
They are removable and not permanently attached to your jaw, allowing you to remove them from your mouth for cleaning or sleeping.
If you are missing some teeth but have several healthy teeth in your top or bottom jaw, you may be a good candidate for partial dentures. Partial dentures fill in gaps while also keeping your teeth from shifting out of place. If you are interested in receiving partial denture, please get in touch with Hemlock Dental Clinic today to see if you are a good candidate for this procedure!

Full Dentures

Full dentures completely replace all missing natural teeth. They are typically worn by elderly patients who want an aesthetic and functional replacement for their missing teeth. Full dentures, like partial dentures, are easy to remove and are held in place by an oral adhesive and suction.
We provide two types of complete dentures at Hemlock Dental Clinic:

Conventional dentures are created after your existing teeth have been removed, and your gums have healed completely. The fabrication process can take 8 to 12 weeks.

Immediate dentures: These dentures are made prior to tooth extraction and are placed immediately after tooth extraction. As your gums heal, you may need to return to your dentist to make adjustments to ensure your dentures fit properly in your mouth.
